A

ACAI BERRIES 

Acai Extract is a purple-red berry derived from the acai palm tree native to South America. Acai berry possesses high concentrations of many essential fatty acids and vitamins. The fatty acids in acai berries promote collagen production, leaving skin glowing. Acai contains a good dose of vitamin A which can help speed up the turnover rate of skin cells, while protecting the skin from free radical damage.


ALLANTOIN 

Extracted from the root of the comfrey plant, Allantoin is a non-irritating ingredient that soothes and protects the skin. With the ability to help soothe the skin, it’s a great all-rounder for keeping skin at the top of its game. It also enhances cellular turnover to promote a smooth and even skin surface. 


ALOE VERA

Aloe Barbadensis is a succulent plant which offers many benefits and is suited for all skin types - especially dry, damaged, broken, sensitive and irritated skin. It offers anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and soothing properties. It is filled with many natural vitamins and antioxidants such as vitamin B complex, folic acid, vitamin C and 70+ components. Due to Aloe’s high-water content, it is a great way to hydrate, moisturise and rejuvenate the skin with natural nutrients.


ARCTIUM LAPPA ROOT EXTRACT 

Arctium lappa root extract can be used to stimulate collagen production and significantly improve the metabolism of skin which leads to visible wrinkle reduction. This Eurasian species of plant is packed full of antioxidants, which are known to improve blood circulation and reduce inflammation, while offering an effective treatment option for mature skin. 


ARGININE 

An amino acid that occurs naturally in the body, arginine is a key building block for proteins. It helps protect the skin from free radicals, which can cause premature ageing, while also hydrating the skin, leaving it soft and supple, and potentially supporting collagen production.


ARGIRELINE

Argireline is a peptide that affects the nerve-to-muscle communication so that the muscles can't adequately contract. Along with its muscle-paralyzing effects, it also stimulates collagen production, further helping to keep skin smooth and wrinkle free.

 

ASCORBIC ACID 

Pure Vitamin C is known as L-Ascorbic Acid. It can stimulate collagen production, block the process to form melanin, and act as an antioxidant to provide free radical protection to our cells. Vitamin C is touted as one of the best anti-aging ingredients on the market — and the key to maintaining a smooth, even, and glowing complexion.

BIOSACCHARIDE GUM-1

Created from sorbitol via bacterial fermentation, biosaccharide gum-1 is a kind of sugar known for its soothing, moisturising, anti-aging, and resurfacing properties. The ingredient decreases tingling sensations caused by lactic acid, provides instant hydration, helps our skin cells live longer, speeds up the skin cell renewal process and leaves our skin feeling smoother. 

 

BUTYROSPERMUM PARKII BUTTER

More commonly known as shea butter, the emollient protects the skin from dryness and accelerates healing of superficial wounds and irritations. Also acting as an emulsifier, it regenerates and soothes the skin, protecting it from external factors such as UV rays or wind. The butter is rich in antioxidants (vitamin A, E, F, quercetin, and epigallocatechin gallate). 

 

BUTYLENE GLYCOL

Butylene glycol is an organic alcohol derived from petroleum and is water-soluble. It works as an emollient to condition skin by coating the surface of your cells, and as a humectant to bind water and pull in hydration to the outer layer of the skin. It also breaks down hard-to-dissolve ingredients, improving penetration and helping the product perform more effectively. 


BENTONITE

Calcium bentonite clay is an absorbent kind of clay that typically forms after volcanic ash ages. This clay has a unique composition and can absorb “negatively charged” toxins (pesticides, lead, trace metals i.e. copper) which can accumulate and keep the body from functioning correctly. It can create a barrier between the skin and possible irritants. Bentonite clay also helps skincare products adhere to the skin and be more water resistant.

BLUEBERRY SEED OIL

Blueberry seed oil is made from cold-pressed blueberries, it is high in the essential fatty acids - omega 3 and 6 - and alpha linolenic acid. These work with the skin’s natural barrier, helping it to function well, and improving overall tone and firmness. Omega oils reduce redness, condition and protect, and help the skin to repair itself. Blueberry seed oil also contains vitamin E which helps to minimise fine lines and tackles loss of elasticity and hyper-pigmentation.


C

CAPRYLYL/CAPRYL GLUCOSIDE

Caprylyl or capryl glucoside is a mild, solubilising, non-ionic surfactant obtained from renewable raw materials, fatty alcohols, and glucose of vegetable origin. It works as a mild ingredient that provides foamy effects to cosmetic products.


CITRIC ACID

Citric acid is an alpha/beta hydroxy acid found naturally in citrus fruits such as lemons and limes. It has protective antioxidant, and corrective antiaging effects helping to reverse visible signs of photodamage. It works by exfoliating the upper layer of dead skin cells to help clean pores, even skin tone and soften and smooth the skin.


CANNABIS SATIVA LEAF/STEM EXTRACT

Extracted from the cannabis sativa plan, hemp seed oil has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties, making it useful in treating a variety of skin conditions. The compounds of hemp seed oil have a soothing effect and can help tackle redness, chronically dry skin, and fine lines.


CANNABIS SATIVA FLOWER OIL

Cannabis Flower Essential Oil is distilled from the annual flowering plant, cannabis sativa. This essential oil is completely free of the psychoactive compound THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and from Cannabidiol (CBD). Two of the chemical constituents of the essential oil are myrcene and beta-caryophyllene, which both have anti-inflammatory properties.


CANNABIS SATIVA SEED OIL

Cannabis sativa seed oil is a herbaceous oil cold pressed from hemp seeds. This naturally green oil is composed of up to 90% omega fatty acids. Unlike CBD oil, cannabis sativa seed oil is mainly found in skincare products thanks to its powerful hydrating properties and abundant antioxidants.


CBD ISOLATE

The purest form of CBD, mainly extracted from hemp, due to its low concentration of THC. The isolate is produced by removing all other compounds found in the plant including other cannabinoids isolating the CBD. It is anti-ageing, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory. In terms of an antioxidant on the skin, it provides a missing particle that a free radical can bond with, stopping it from going on to cause DNA damage.


CITRUS AURANTIUM BERGAMIA PEEL OIL

Bergamot essential oil has antibacterial, deodourising, refreshing, soothing, and uplifting properties which make it excellent for body skincare preparations, for ensuring healthy and vital skin. It balances oil production, and is toning, cleansing and gently antiseptic. It soothes skin irritations, minimises the look of scars and other marks on the skin.


CETEARYL ALCOHOL

Cetearyl alcohol is a waxy substance that's derived naturally from plants, like palm or coconut oil, but can also be synthesised in a lab. It prevents the separation of products, encourages even application, thickens formulas, and softens the skin.


CETYLE PALMITATE

The ester of cetyl alcohol and palmitic acid- a naturally occurring fatty acid found in plants and animals. It acts as an emollient that lubricates and conditions the skin’s surface, helping it to appear softer and smoother.


COCO CAPRYLATE/CAPRATE

Coco caprylate/caprate is made by combining esters from coconut-derived fatty alcohol with caprylic and capric acids. It acts as an emollient, providing hydration to the skin.


CERAMIDES

Ceramides are lipids (fats) that are found naturally in high concentrations in the uppermost layers of skin. They play a vital role in determining how your skin looks. They hold the skin together by forming a protective layer that limits moisture loss and protects against visible damage from pollution and other environmental stressors. Examples include retinol, niacinamide and peptides, which are anti-aging ‘powerhouses’, responsible for supporting the skin’s dynamic nature.


CITRUS LEMON PEEL OIL

Citrus lemon peel oil is a commonly used citrus oil that can be a skin cleanser. It has antioxidant components that can be beneficial in declogging pores and treating skin conditions such as acne.


CHLOROPHYLIN-COPPER COMPLEX

A semi-synthetic sodium/copper derivative of chlorophyll. Also known as potassium sodium copper chlorophyllin. The topical application of this ingredient helps eliminate odours that form on the skin, and is particularly effective in deodourising wounds, burns and other skin conditions. In addition to helping control odour, chlorophyllin-copper complex is also known to help expedite the healing of wounds by slowing the growth of certain anaerobic bacteria on the skin. 

 

DICAPRYLYL ETHER

A plant derived oil used as a skin conditioner, emollient, and solvent to create a smooth and soft appearance. Unlike most emollients, it provides a dry and non-greasy feel to the skin, which makes it an excellent choice for powder formulations like deodourant. It's also known for its fast spreading capabilities, and is thus used to help facilitate the spreadability of many slow spreading ingredients. 


DECYL GLUCOSIDE

Decyl glucoside is an organic compound obtained from nature. It is a mild non-ionic surfactant that lathers quite easily, making it one of the primary ingredients used in soaps, face washes, and cleansers. It removes oil and dirt and helps sensitive skin.


DIBUTYL ADIPATE

Dibutyl Adipate is the diester of butyl alcohol and adipic acid. It is a clear colourless oily liquid that softens synthetic polymers by reducing brittleness and cracking. It also acts as lubricant on the skin surface, which gives the skin a soft and smooth appearance, and as a solvent that is used to dissolve other substances.


DIETHYLAMINO HYDROXYBENZOYL HEXYL BENZOATE

Diethylamino hydroxybenzoyl hexyl benzoate is an organic UV filter that attenuates the exposure of UV radiation on human skin. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.


DECYL GLUCOSIDE

Decyl Glucoside is a naturally derived, non-ionic surfactant or surface-active agent commonly found in personal care products like shampoos, body washes, cleansers, liquid hand soaps, etc. Owing to its excellent foaming capacity and skin-friendly nature, it is a suitable co-surfactant or base-surfactant in many cleansing products, making it ideal for sensitive skin.

DISODIUM PHOSPHATE

A synthetic salt that helps to adjust and maintain the pH of water-based and water soluble cosmetic formulas. Disodium phosphate can help keep cosmetics’ pH closer to your skin’s natural level.


DRONE TARGETED COPPER PEPTIDE

A copper-based peptide which stimulates collagen and elastin synthesis. The peptide is encapsulated in a polymer shell with specific external ligands which guide the shell to fibroblast cells (where collagen is made). This means that the capsule is directed, like a drone, to a specific target cell. After binding, the drone penetrates inside the fibroblast. When inside, the polymer encapsulation is naturally broken down and the active peptide can diffuse out of the encapsulation in a time release manner, stimulating collagen and elastin production for plumper, more youthful-looking skin.


ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN

Ethylhexylglycerin is derived from glycerine, obtained mainly from plant-based sources such as soybean or palm. It is utilised for its natural preservative action and its use as a skin conditioner. It is thought that ethylhexylglycerin’s preservative characteristics come from its ability to also act as a surfactant, preventing disruption in surface tension and damaging the cell membranes of bacteria, preventing their growth.

ETHYL ASCORBIC ACID 

Ethyl ascorbic acid is what may be considered a next generation Vitamin C derivative. It is a highly stable, non-irritating, patented derivative. Ethyl ascorbic acid is most effective in boosting collagen synthesis and lightening skin, with over 80% metabolised to pure L-ascorbic acid.


F

FERULIC ACID

Ferulic acid, aka hydroxycinnamic acid, is a powerful antioxidant that neutralises free-radical damage from pollution, UV light, or infrared radiation, all of which accelerate skin aging. It is found in the cell wall of plants like oats, brown rice, peanuts, and oranges. It is available in both supplemental form and as part of anti-aging serums. It’s primarily used to fight off free radicals, which play a role in age-related skin issues, including age spots and wrinkles.

GLYCERIN

Glycerin, also known as glycerol, is a natural compound derived from vegetable oils or animal fats. It’s a clear, colourless, odourless and syrupy liquid with a sweet taste. It effectively exfoliates and removes dead skin cells. As a chemical exfoliator, it unclogs pores and helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. 


GLYCERYL OLEATE

Glyceryl oleate, also called glyceryl monooleate, is obtained from naturally occurring oils and fats. It occurs as a clear amber or pale-yellow liquid. Glyceryl Oleate helps to form emulsions by reducing the surface tension of the substances to be emulsified. It also functions as a skin conditioning agent - emollient.


GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE

A 100% plant derived, natural multi-functional ingredient that has emollient and moisturising properties, can work as a co-emulsifier (meaning that next to other emulsifiers it can help water and oil to mix) and even more importantly has a strong antimicrobial activity.


GLYCERYL STEARATE

Glyceryl stearate is a naturally derived fatty acid that is used as a thickener and emollient in various cosmetics and skincare products. While the main function of glyceryl stearate is to improve the texture and sensory feel of skincare products, it also helps to hydrate and protect the skin, giving it that dewy glow.

GLYCOLIC ACID 

Glycolic acid is the most popular and certainly the most widely studied of the alpha hydroxy acid family. Its chemical makeup is small compared to other AHA family members, so it is easily absorbed and able to penetrate skin at a very deep level which makes it effective at helping to combat a variety of skincare woes. Glycolic acid’s known benefits include its anti-ageing properties, effectiveness in treating acne and its ability to exfoliate the skin while maintaining a natural PH balance. Safe for all skin types, glycolic acid is easy to use and an essential part of any skin-care routine.

GLYCERL GLUCOSIDE 

Glyceryl Glucoside is a natural combination of glycerol and glucose and is becoming the new molecule for next generation moisturising ingredients. Glyceryl glucosides are mentioned for increasing skin elasticity, moisturising, the reduction of symptoms like itching, burning, tightness, tingling, and the feeling of dryness.

 

HYALURONIC ACID

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring glycosaminoglycan found throughout the body’s connective tissue. Glycosaminoglycans are simply long unbranched carbohydrates, or sugars, called polysaccharides. HA is the main component of what gives skin structure, and is responsible for that plump and hydrated look.


HESPERIDIN 

Hesperidin is a bioflavonoid of citrus cultivation and has been shown to have numerous benefits for skin such as protection against free radicals and UV rays, and anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-microbial and skin lightening properties.


HELIANTHUS ANNUUS SEED OIL

Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) seed oil is a non-volatile, non-fragrant plant oil used as an emollient in cosmetics. Sunflower oil is particularly beneficial for dry, dehydrated, or environmentally compromised skin because its linoleic acid content helps skin synthesise its own lipids, including ceramides, visibly repairing its barrier and leading to smoother, healthier-looking skin.


HUMULUS LUPULUS CONE EXTRACT

Also known as hops, the heart of beer, the ingredient stimulates skin circulation. Its anti-inflammatory effects are used in cosmetics to help over-sensitised skin to recover. It can be incorporated in lotions and creams to help agitated, mature or dry skin. 


J

JOJOBA OIL 

Long used by Native Americans for its many benefits, Jojoba Oil is produced from the seed of the Jojoba plant, a shrubby tree that is native to southern Arizona and California. It is lighter than other face oils and easily absorbed by skin. It deeply penetrates to soothe and soften while providing an excellent moisturising effect and adding a healthy glow. It doesn’t evaporate like water-based moisturisers, which is very important when your skin is exposed to the environment. Jojoba is full of nutrients like Vitamin E and B, as well as antioxidants and minerals like chromium, copper, and zinc which all nourish and protect skin. 


K

KAOLIN

Kaolin is a cosmetic clay rich in silica and with a neutral pH. It is a mild yet effective cleanser which benefits the skin by removing dull dead skin, absorbing impurities from the pores, and therefore leaving skin wonderfully soft. 


L

LAVANDULA ANGUSTIFOLIA OIL

Lavender oil is an essential oil derived from the lavender plant. Lavender oil can benefit the skin in numerous ways. It has the ability to lessen acne, help lighten skin, and reduce wrinkles.


LINALOOL

Linalool is a naturally derived ingredient from essential oils that is used in skincare and cosmetic formulations to improve the scent. It helps to improve the scent and taste of cosmetic and skincare formulations. It may also have added benefits, acting as an anti-stress and soothing ingredient.


LIMONENE

Limonene is a chemical constituent of many natural fragrant ingredients, notably citrus oils such as lemon. Like most volatile fragrance components, limonene has strong antioxidant benefits and has also been shown to calm skin; however, when exposed to air, these highly volatile antioxidant compounds oxidise and become capable of sensitising skin.


LACTIC ACID

Lactic acid helps improve the skin's natural moisture factor, or the way the skin keeps itself hydrated. Basically, it helps to keep the skin moisturised and feeling less dry. When you use lactic acid regularly, it can also improve signs of aging. It stimulates collagen renewal and can firm your skin.


M

MENTHA PIPERITA OIL

Peppermint is an aromatic herb in the mint family. It’s a hybrid mint that’s a cross between spearmint and watermint. It can be found naturally in North America and Europe. It has strong antimicrobial properties that act as an effective natural element to combat acne. Not only does it cleanse skin and unclog pores, it also provides the epidermis with the optimal environment in which to thrive.


MAGNESIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE 

A water-soluble yet oil-loving stabilised form of vitamin C which promotes hydration deeper in skin, isn’t beholden to a low pH for efficacy, and is generally well tolerated. Its soothing properties may also play a role in reducing blemishes.


MATRIXYL 3000

Matrixyl 3000 is a combination of two peptides, palmitoyl oligopeptide and palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7. It reduces skin roughness and wrinkle depth while also improving skin tone.


MARACUJA OIL 

Maracuja oil itself is rich in essential fatty acids and nutrients which are vital to skin health. Linoleic acid in maracuja oil keeps skin moisturised and is ideal for soothing dry, flaky skin and also acne prone skin. Maracuja oil is rich in protective antioxidants like lycopene, to battle the effects of sun damage, pollution, and other environmental stressors. Lycopene works with maracuja’s natural vitamin C content to even skin tone and promote collagen production for firmer, brighter, smoother skin and less visible wrinkles.

NIACINAMIDE 

Niacinamide, also called nicotinamide, is a form of vitamin B3, an essential nutrient. It helps build proteins in the skin such as keratin, lock in moisture to prevent environmental damage, minimise redness and pore appearance, regulate oil, treat hyperpigmentation, reduce signs of aging, and protect against oxidative stress.


NATURAL MOISTURISING FACTORS 

The role of the NMF is to maintain adequate skin hydration. They are composed principally of free amino acids, and various derivatives of these amino acids such as PCA, urocanic acid (a natural absorber of ultraviolet) and inorganic salts, sugars, as well as lactic acid and urea.


OPTIMISED RED GINSENG 

A root which is shown to boost the circulation of the skin’s smallest blood vessels and ramp up the synthesis of collagen. It is likely to give you firmer skin and its antioxidant properties can protect skin from free radicals and other environmental aggressors that could trigger the formation of fine lines, wrinkles and even skin cancer. 


PRUNUS AMYGDALUS DULCIS OIL

The emollient plant oil that comes from almonds. Similar to other plant oils, it is loaded with skin-nourishing fatty acids (oleic acid - 55-86% and linoleic acid 7-35%) and contains several other skin goodies such as antioxidant vitamin E and vitamin B versions. It's a nice, basic oil that is often used due to its great smoothing, softening and moisturising properties.


POLYGONUM FAGOPYRUM PEEL EXTRACT

Black buckwheat seeds which function as a skin conditioner.

POLYACRYLATE CROSSPOLYMER-6

Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6 is a skin-friendly synthetic polymer that functions to protect the skin's surface, thicken product consistency, and help keep formulas stable. Polyacrylate crosspolymers work by gelling the water in a product to help suspend particles and oil droplets.


D-PANTHENOL

D-Panthenol is a nutrient from the B vitamin family that helps manage the negative results that oxidative stress can have on our skin, such as redness, fine lines, skin roughness and more. This form of vitamin B5 easily penetrates the skin, allowing it to promote recovery and revitalization of skin cells.

PHENOXYETHANOL

Phenoxyethanol is an ether alcohol that is naturally derived from green tea but is usually synthesised in a lab. It functions as a preservative, a solvent, and an antimicrobial ingredient.

PUNICA GRANATUM SEED EXTRACT

Also known as pomegranate, punica granatum seed extract is a fruit known to be rich in antioxidants. It promotes cell regeneration, protects against UV rays, and has anti-aging and moisturising properties.


POLYGLYCERYL-3 STEARATE

This synthetic ingredient is used in cosmetics to impart an emollient feel that conditions skin, as an emulsifier to keep unlike ingredients (think oil and water) blended, and, in greater amounts as a surfactant. It is considered safe and non-sensitising as used in cosmetics.

 

PREBIOTICS

Prebiotics are essentially foods consumed by probiotics. Probiotics are the good bacteria in and on the body that keep our bodies balanced and healthy inside and out. Applying prebiotics to skin helps probiotics thrive so they can: keep the surface of skin—its first line of defense—balanced, younger-looking, and strong; offset factors that lead to redness, dryness, and a weakened surface; ward off signs of aging skin; and restore a healthy microbiome balance.


POTASSIUM SORBATE

Potassium sorbate is a mild preservative that is used in skincare, cosmetics, and body care formulations. It is used to extend the shelf-life of your products by preventing the growth of bacteria, fungi, and molds. It is also used as an alternative to parabens.


PEG-100 STEARATE

As an emollient, PEG 100 stearate is included within skincare product formulations to give the skin a softer feel. It achieves this through strengthening the skin's moisture barrier by forming a thin fatty layer on the skin's surface, which prevents moisture loss and increases overall hydration.


ROSA CANINA SEED EXTRACT

Rosehip oil is derived from the rosa canina rose bush, which is grown mostly in Chile. Unlike rose oil, which is extracted from rose petals, rosehip oil is pressed from the fruit and seeds of the rose plant. It is loaded with skin-nourishing vitamins and essential fatty acids. It also contains phenols that have been shown to have antiviral, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. 


ROSMARINUS OFFICINALIS LEAF EXTRACT 

A potent antioxidant, rosemary leaf extract protects the skin and prevents signs of premature aging. Rosmarinic acid (the main component in rosemary leaf extract) is powerfully calming for skin conditions like eczema and acne.


RETINYL PALMITATE

Combination of retinol (pure vitamin A) and the fatty acid palmitic acid. Research has shown it to be an effective antioxidant when applied to skin. Retinyl palmitate is found naturally in our skin, where it works as an antioxidant, helping protect the skin from UV light exposure—though it does not replace the need for sunscreen.


RETINOL

Retinol is a type of retinoid, which is made from vitamin A. Rather than removing dead skin cells as many other anti-aging and acne products do, the small molecules that make up retinol go deep beneath the epidermis to your dermis. Once in this middle layer of skin, retinol helps neutralise free radicals to boost the production of elastin and collagen. This creates a plumping effect that reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and enlarged pores. At the same time, retinol has an exfoliating effect on the skin’s surface that can further improve texture and tone.

SODIUM COCO-SULFATE

Sodium coco sulfate creates a rich foam and cleanses skin. Its thorough action dissolves dirt and grease effectively. Made from the fatty acids of coconut oil, it's a good palm-free alternative to sodium lauryl sulfate. Sodium coco sulfate is a surfactant.


SODIUM LEVULINATE

Sodium levulinate is the salt of levulinic acid, a synthetic organic acid that helps condition and soften skin. Sodium levulinate is sometimes part of preservative blend because it exhibits antimicrobial action, although this is more common in food than for cosmetics.


SALICYDIC ACID 

Derived from willow bark or produced synthetically, salicylic acid has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It can penetrate deep into pores, loosen dead skin cells, clear clogged pores, and reduce sebum secretion, inflammation, and redness.

SESAMUM INDICUM SEED OIL

Sesamum indicum oil, or sesame oil, contains vitamin E, which can help protect skin cells from damage caused by environmental factors, such as UV rays, pollution, and toxins. Sesame oil also contains several phenolic compounds, which give it its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.


SQUALANE

The hydrogenated form of squalene, a lipid produced naturally by our skin cells. It hydrates and detoxifies the skin, as well as boosting collagen production, resulting in firmer skin.

 

SODIUM HYALURONATE

Sodium hyaluronate is a water-soluble salt that's derived from hyaluronic acid, which can be found naturally in the body. Like hyaluronic acid, sodium hyaluronate is incredibly hydrating, but this form can penetrate deeper into the skin and is more stable (meaning it will last longer) in cosmetic formulation. As a humectant, sodium hyaluronate works by pulling in moisture from the environment and the underlying layers of your skin into the epidermis. Sodium hyaluronate has incredible hydrating benefits that address a number of skin concerns caused by a lack of moisture in the skin such as dryness, signs of aging, breakouts, and greasiness.


SODIUM PHYTATE

Sodium phytate is the sodium salt of phytic acid. It is generally used to help stablise products, but in larger concentrations can provide a skin-lightening effect. it can also help moisturise, improve skin elasticity, and balance oily skin. Phytic acid is found abundantly in plant tissues, especially bran and seeds, where it acts as the principal storage form of phosphorus.

 

SODIUM LEVULINATE

Sodium Levulinate is the sodium salt of levulinic acid, and is used as a preservative and skin conditioning agent in cosmetics and personal care products. Sodium levulinate has been found to inhibit the growth of aerobic microorganisms during storage compared to controls, while not affecting colour or pH levels.

 

SODIUM ANISATE

Obtained from anise and fennel, sodium anisate is a 100% natural preservative. It is a gentle preservative proven to have a great mitotic inhibitor activity without altering the integrity, colour or pH of other natural ingredients included in the final product.

Soy extract is taken from soybeans. It is well known that soy's lipids, vitamins and proteins contain skin moisturising powers in addition to promoting an even complexion, boosting smooth skin and fighting signs of ageing. It also combats free radical damage, contains antioxidants, improves skin elasticity, restores levels of collagen, stimulates the production of hyaluronic acid, and acts as a natural source of vitamin E.

Also known as melaleuca oil, tea tree oil is an essential oil distilled from the leaves of the native Australian plant melaleuca alternifolia. TILIA EUROPAEA LEAF EXTRACT

Tilia is a deciduous tree that produces delicate scented flowers. They are rich in flavonoids, phytosterols, polysaccharides, tannins, phenolic and ascorbic acids, essential oils and carotenoids that provide their antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, antiinflammatory, antiviral and emollient properties. They help to maintain youthful looking skin by providing powerful antioxidant protection, slowing down the skin aging process, offering water-binding properties, locking moisture into the skin, making it soft and supple, acting as natural astringent, balancing skin natural sebum production, tightening and cleaning pores, firming the skin, and soothing irritated, itchy skin.


TITANIUM DIOXIDE

Titanium dioxide is a naturally occurring mineral that's used in a variety of products, including sunscreens. Due to its ability to help protect the skin from the widest spectrum of UV light, including both UVA and UVB rays, sunscreens with titanium dioxide are ideal for both daily and prolonged sun exposure. Titanium dioxide is often used as an active ingredient in mineral-based sunscreens to reflect and scatter damaging UVA and UVB rays off the skin’s surface. This helps prevent sunburn and long-term sun damage.

TIN OXIDE

Tin oxide is an inorganic compound derived from a mineral known as cassiterite, which is the main ore of tin. It is mostly used when dealing with so-called effect pigments, tricky composite pigments that can do colour travel (change colour depending on the viewing angle) or give multiple colour effect. 


TOCOPHEROL

Tocopherol is a form of Vitamin E typically derived from vegetable oils. Tocopherol is known as an antioxidant superhero that provides awesome protection for your skin. It is shown to absorb UV rays and help prevent UV-induced free radical damage to skin, act as an anti-inflammatory agent, help moisturise and reduce pollution-related free radical damage.

Tocopheryl acetate is a specific type of vitamin E, in a class of organic chemical compounds known as tocopherols. ZUREA

Urea is a component of the natural moisturising factor (NMF) produced by the skin. It is a humectant, which means it can absorb moisture from the environment and draw it to the skin. In addition, urea is also an emollient that softens and smooths the skin. It helps improve the appearance of patches of dry, rough, scaly skin in two ways: by providing hydration to smooth the skin's texture, and by helping to reduce the buildup of dead skin cells.

Zinc is an essential trace element commonly found in red meat, poultry, and fish.
