5 BEST FRUITS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

5 BEST FRUITS FOR WEIGHT LOSS

Many fruits are low in calories yet rich in fibber, which may benefit weight loss. Some fruits, including apples, berries, and melons, may also increase feelings of fullness.

1. ORANGE

Like all citrus fruits, oranges are low in calories while high in vitamin C and fibber. They are also very filling. While many people consume orange juice instead of orange slices, studies have found that eating whole fruits — rather than drinking fruit juices — not only results in less hunger and lower calorie intake, but also increased feelings of fullness.

Therefore, if you are trying to lose weight, it may be better to eat oranges rather than drink orange juice. The fruit can be eaten alone or added to your favourite salad or dessert.

2.PASSION FRUIT

Passion fruit, which originates in South America, grows on a beautiful, flowering vine. It has a tough outer rind — purple or yellow in colour — with an edible, pulpy seed mass inside. One purple passion fruit (18 g) contains just 18 calories and is a rich source of fibber, vitamin C, vitamin A, iron, and potassium. For such a small fruit, passion fruit holds ample amounts of dietary fibber. In fact, five of these fruits provide 33% of the DV for less than 100 calories

Additionally, passion fruit seeds provide piceatannol, a substance linked to reductions in blood pressure and improved insulin sensitivity in males with overweight. However, more research is needed.

3.BERRIES

Shapiro loves recommending berries because they have such high fibber content. "Berries are my favourite fruit to recommend since they are the highest in fibber and lowest in sugar and are packed with antioxidants, so they are optimal for health." Raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries all make great weight-loss fruit options.

4.APPLES

Apples are high in fibber, making your belly feel full, and they leave you mentally satisfied too, says Shapiro. "Apples have a great crunch and texture, so they satisfy your craving to chew." If you're looking for a yummy and healthy dessert, Shapiro recommends throwing your apples in the oven and baking them.

5.PAPAYA

Papaya is rich in enzymes that can ease distress in the GI tract and reduce bloating, Shapiro says. The fruit is also low cal and full of fiber. It's tasty on its own, but it also pairs well with some fresh lime juice and a little sea salt.
